The Penn Brook Dolphins diving team is a great opportunity for children to dive, learn, exercise, and have fun in a low-pressure competitive environment. Each summer, about 40 kids join the diving team, which is a member of the Princeton Area Swimming and Diving Association (PASDA).
Our head diving coach, Kathy Diringer, brings decades of diving and coaching experience. While diving can be intimidating at first, Kathy’s positive attitude and inclusive, welcoming team culture make the experience fun and motivating.
The season begins in early June with practices, weekdays after school. When local public schools are out for summer, the team transitions to morning practices, Monday through Friday. The season concludes in mid- to late-July. The team competes in three dual meets, typically held Monday and/or Wednesday evenings against local PASDA opponents. There is an optional high dive meet held at Penn Brook. The PASDA Champs meet takes place in mid- to late-July. Last year, Penn Brook won the PASDA championship meet for the first time ever!
Yes, children can join BOTH the swim team and dive teams this summer as their practice times and meets do NOT conflict!
After the season, divers will join the swim team for the annual awards picnic in late July.
Each diver will receive a team t-shirt and will have the option to buy a team suit. The more participants we have, the better! Please consider joining the team this summer. Go Dolphins!

Parent Meeting
We will hold a parent meeting at 7:00 PM on Wednesday May 27 to go over the summer swim/dive season, meet the coaches, and answer any questions. The meeting will be held on zoom at the following link: https://princeton.zoom.us/my/mattcrispino
Team Swimsuit Sale
TYR will be on-site on June 10 during practice to sell team suits. You are not required to purchase one, but note that this year’s suit will be different than last year’s.
Practice Schedule
June 1-June 18 Monday-Friday:
3:45-4:45 PM for younger kids (5th grade and down)
4:45-5:30 PM for older kids (6th grade and up)
June 22 onward Monday-Friday
9:00-10:00 AM for older kids (11 and up)
10:00-11:00 AM for younger kids (10 and under)
Notes:
- There are no evening practices
- Diving practice is staggered with swimming so that kids can also join the swimming team without conflict

Parent Volunteer Obligations
Parents will be expected to volunteer to work at a minimum of two dive meets. Jobs include judging, scoring table, ribbons, concessions, announcing, and crowd control.
